ECLIP

ESPRIT: ECLIP (Electronic Commerce Legal Issues Platform): The civil law department is the coordinating partner of this major research project funded by the European Commission. In cooperation with four other research institutions in Belgium, Great Britain, Norway and Spain, legal issues relating to electronic commerce have been investigated on a transnational basis since February 1998 as part of the two-year project. Research at the ITM focuses on the areas of copyright and tax law. In addition to the comprehensive research of the legal problem areas, the project partners have set themselves the goal of providing assistance to other technically or economically oriented European projects on electronic commerce in the consideration of legal issues within their project. Furthermore, through publications, the organization of workshops and participation in international conferences, the scientific debate is to be enriched and the general awareness for legal issues of electronic commerce is to be strengthened.
