Industrial property rights

Industrial property protection plays a very important role in many areas of economic life. Effective legal protection for inventions and technical achievements is an indispensable prerequisite for the functioning of an economy. One example of this is start-ups, which would quickly lose their edge over competitors without industrial property rights. However, graduates of law faculties are also confronted with requirements in this field when choosing a career. Despite this, this area of law has hardly been included in the curriculum to date. The Research Center for Intellectual Property, which began its work in the summer semester of 1998, is intended to close this gap in addition to its research and further education tasks.
